Rapid deployment of an analyst briefing for AstraZeneca PLC

Background

AstraZeneca PLC has been a long standing client of Goose Live Events trusting us with producing their AGM since 1998 and supporting the investor relations team in the UK, Europe and US.

Our client was in the midst of a takeover that, had it happened, would have been the biggest ever in the UK.  It is now a matter of record that the takeover was defended.  At the time this meant a number of briefings to both analyst and media were required at short notice.

Goose Live Events delivers

A call came in on the Saturday afternoon of the May Bank Holiday weekend requesting a virtual event be staged including webcast and telephone conference. It was to be live early on the following Tuesday, he next official working day. The Goose Live Events rose to the challenge, opening the office on Sunday for planning.

In order for the live programme to be broadcast via the web and telephone network, equipment to set up a temporary radio studio was arranged and delivered to the client’s headquarters in London.  Briefing with webcasters and telephone conference also took place on the Sunday.

With the equipment installed and tested on the Bank Holiday Monday, the studio was ready to be operational Tuesday morning. Our clients CEO, CFO and other senior executives took to the air, presenting the latest updates and answering questions live on the telephone and via emailMartyn Blunt, Director of Goose Live Events, commented “After a long association with AstraZeneca, Goose was delighted to be able to support at very short notice. During time available we realised that the long relationship meant we were able to make decisions on planning, requirements and budget without having to tie the client up in long dialogue at a point where time was in short supply.

Goose Live Events, as expected, has the knowledge, experience and network to deliver effectively in even the most time critical situations. The team continue to be engaged by AstraZeneca PLC for the AGM and investor relations events.
